Dr. Meghan Saganski
Title: Dental Assistant
Location: Prince Albert, SK
Employment: Part-time (24 hours max a week)
This is a part-time Dental Assistant role working one-on-one with a dentist in a small, on-site dental clinic located within the Prince Albert Penitentiary.
This role is very different from private practice. There are no evenings, no weekends, no production targets, and no pressure to rush from patient to patient. The pace is intentionally steady, allowing time for thoughtful patient care and proper clinical turnover. The work is focused almost entirely on chairside assisting and sterilization in a single-operatory setting.
This role is a great fit if you are someone who:
• Enjoys a steady, predictable clinical rhythm
• Prefers depth of care over speed and volume
• Is comfortable working closely with one dentist in a quiet, focused setting
• Is looking for part-time work that fits well alongside family life, school, or semi-retirement
You will work closely with the dentist as her dedicated chairside support, developing a consistent working rhythm built on trust, anticipation, and clear communication.
What A Day Looks Like
You will arrive on site in the morning and go through the standard security process before entering the healthcare area. Once in the clinic, the day is spent preparing the operatory, assisting chairside, and supporting patient care as it moves through the schedule. Your time is protected for clinical work, so you can focus on supporting patient care and chairside procedures rather than administrative or scheduling tasks.
Patients are seen individually, and your time is shared between chairside assisting and instrument processing. While the dentist is with a patient, you may be cleaning, sterilizing, or preparing for the next appointment. Patient turnover is consistent, giving enough time to support care without feeling rushed.
There is a mid-day window when no patients are scheduled, which is typically used to complete sterilization and reset the space. Once those tasks are finished, there is time to step away before the afternoon resumes. The workday generally concludes by mid-afternoon, and occasionally earlier, depending on circumstances.
About the Work Environment
This role is based within a secure healthcare setting. Patients attend the clinic by request, and safety protocols and on-site support are always in place. The clinic operates as a calm, professional healthcare space focused on treatment and care.
